BONDED SEAL WASHERS:
A bonded seal washer is used to provide a secure seal around a screw or bolt. These bonded seals are designed with an outer ring of steel and an inner elastometric rubber ring that asts as a gasket. The compression of the rubber inner ring during fastening provides a secure sealing action. They are commonly used in applications that require a stronger seal than ordinary washers.
SEAL WASHER APPLICATIONS & MECHANISM:
These bonded washers are commonly used to seal bolt heads and prevent leakage from hydraulic fittings such as valves and pipe joints. The sealing mechanism is achieved as the bolt head contacts and tightens against the washer. The internal rubber diameter is wider than the metal outer and as the joint is tightened - the seal is compressed until the bolt contacts the metal outer structure of the washer. This design creates a tight and secure high pressure seal.
