BONDED SEAL WASHERS:
A bonded seal washer is used to provide a secure seal around a screw or bolt. These bonded seals are designed with outer ring of steel and an inner elastometric rubber ring that asts as a gasket. The compression of the rubber inner ring during fastening creates a secure sealing action. They are commonly used in applications that require a stronger seal than ordinary washers - such as pressure sealing washers and sealing washer UK.
SEAL WASHER APPLICATIONS & MECHANISM:
These bonded washers are commonly used to seal bolt heads and prevent leakage from hydraulic fittings such as valves and pipe joints. The internal rubber diameter is wider than the metal outer and as the joint is tightened - the seal is compressed until the bolt contacts the metal outer structure of the washer.
This design creates a tight and secure high pressure seal. The sealing mechanism is achieved as the fitting or screw head contacts and tightens against the washer for a reliable secure hold.
Unlike ordinary flat washers, the bonded washer compresses evenly around the fastener to prevent fluid or gas from escaping past the threads. This makes them a dependable choice for any workshop dealing with hydraulic or fuel line repairs.
