The stainless steel banding has the convenience of being able to produce instant hose clamps to any desired diameter from a kit.
By simply cutting off the required length from a continuous banding roll and engaging one end of the band into each housing of the connector a hose clamp is made.

This JCS brand uses heavy duty 16mm banding where as Jubilee uses 11mm and Norma only 9mm.
