COMBINATION SPANNER - TWO HEADS:
This 27mm combination spanner has two heads. On one end there is an open end profile and the other there is a closed ring profile. The two heads are of equal size and the length of the spanner increases with head size.
OPEN HEAD v. CLOSED HEAD:
The open ended head is stronger than the ring head because it places a lesser degree of pressure on the corners of the fastener. Therefore, the open end side of the combination spanner is best used for the final tightening of a fastener or for the initial loosening. The ring end on the other hand is best used for the main part of the task.
